The Spiš Chalet has been known for several decades by its tradition of serving wonderful local home cuisine such as sheep cheese dumplings (locally known as "bryndzové halušky"), sheep cheese pierogies and home pig feast (locally known as "zabíjačka"). Our guests like taste of traditional brandies such as Farmer's Slivovitz (52%) and Spiš Juniper Brandy. Besides the main restaurant building (72 seats) there are also Horse Drivers' (30 seats) and Chief Shepherd's (10 seats) Rooms used for private parties and group events. You can enjoy attractive surrounding of the chalet in a summer buffet or haluška terrace. Moreover there is an exhibition of original farmers' tools, playground for children and occasionally horse riding.
The country under the Spiš castle is studded with precious historical and natural treasures such as Žehra, Dreveník, Spišská Kapitula which is a part of the Spiš Jerusalem reaching Pažica and Sivá brada. Also there is a very nice trail connecting Spiš Chalet, Spiš castle and Sivá brada. The Spiš Chalet is a center of various important events including the Spiš Folk Festival, Days of Traditions and Culture along with Pierogi Eating Contest as well as successful attempt to cook the biggest Sheep Cheese Pierogi (107 cm), Gulášfest Branisko, Horse Driving Trials and various folk events.

A rarity is our Horseshoe Wall created by significant guests of the Spiš Chalet. The chalet prepares for its guests grandmothers' meals of the Central Spiš such as Home Pig Feast Specialties, Ram Feast, Carnival, Roasted Piggy and Pierogi Champion. Only for you our Spiš Chalet will prepare a Chief Shepherd's Night along with folk music and singing, fine cuisine, warm hospitality, exceptional service, relaxing atmosphere and friendly words from the Chief Shepherd.
